French wire - also called Gimp or Bouillion

A traditional method of creating a nice neat end to threaded beads - typically with Silk but can also be used with other cords. Simply cut a piece about 6mm long, thread your cord through it and form it into a small loop. Then attach to a jump ring. This makes your end neater and stronger and the wire gimp protect the cord from chaffing.
