Miyuki Delica to Round Seed Bead Conversion Table

When it comes to creating a piece of beadwork, we invariably end up using a variety of different bead shapes to form a bezel, embellish a strip or make a structure. Colour choice can play a big part in how our final piece looks, and sometimes we want to carry a colour theme throughout our design.

Miyuki have a huge selection of colours and finishes to choose from across both their Delica and Seed Bead range (great, we hear you say!), however the colour numbers given to a Delica bead are not the same as a Seed Bead (ah, not so great). But fear not, Miyuki have created a fantastic resource where you can use the colour number for your Delica to search for the same colour in a Seed bead (provided it is produced).

You can choose to either scroll through the list of numbers on the tale, or type in the Delica or Seed bead number at the top of the page. As you type, if there is a match the page will automatically show you the results - how easy is that!

Shown below is an example of how the table looks, along with the Delica and Seed Beads in the same colour (left hand side - DB5 and SB455, right hand side - DB3 and SB453)

As it is noted on the web page, the colour numbers are interchangeable in different bead sizes e.g. DB1 will be a Metallic Gunmetal colour in all sizes of Delica beads, and SB451 will be the matching Metallic Gunmetal colour in all Seed Bead sizes.
